鑒於氣候變遷與環境永續議題日益迫切，永續能源的開發成為當今科學界的重要議題。科技部與中研院共同主辦本次「永續能源的關鍵技術」的研討會，邀請國內外講師針對能源規劃、永續能源等最新的進展作最新的報告，並邀請廠商針對太陽能、風能、氫能與儲能等議題做實際參觀與展示，以期對永續能源的關鍵技術有最新的認識。

近年來，胞外體的研究進入到各個領域，舉凡疾病分子標誌，治療，藥物反應，藥物傳遞，發育等等。為了推廣和促進國內在胞外體的研究和產業發展，籌組了台灣胞外體學會，並將於一月19日假中研院原分所浦大邦講堂舉行成立大會。 同時，我們也邀請了日本癌症研究中心也是日本胞外體學會會長 落谷孝広 教授，韓國胞外體學會暨POSTECH 的 Yong Song Gho 教授， 國立成功大學 湯銘哲老師，國立清華大學 陳致貞老師以及中研院賴品光助研究員共同進行 Exosomes & Extracellular Vesicles 的國際研討會，針對胞外體的分離、純化、影像、內含物分析及功能等進行精闢的演講分享和討論。 我們相信也會持續堅持將台灣學術界與世界接軌和交流，將可促進國內科學研究的內涵以及高度。但是更需要的是您的支持和參與。

IAMS (Institute of Atomic and Molecular Science) of Academia Sinica and HCMUS (University of Science, Ho Chih Min), Vietnam National University has a long term friendship. We have had two joint workshops on various topics in Physics, Chemistry and Material Science in 2015 and 2016. We are very happy to invite friends from HCMUS to visit IAMS for the first time to attend the 3rd IAMS-HCMUS Joint Workshop on Dec/08/2017.

We will be hosting the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS) Young Fellow Research Presentation on Nov 13, 2017, at Poe Lecture hall. IAMS is supported by ~50 post-doctoral fellows, ~100 students, and ~50 research assistants. Many of the excellent research done in IAMS is the work of these supporting cast in the labs, in this presentation contest, we would like to give these young fellows a chance to tell us what they have done and what they want to do. We hope to take this opportunity to encourage interested researchers to participate in this workshop and learn the wide range of research done in IAMS by our young fellows.

This Workshop is the fourth in series held in Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica, to provide a great opportunity to discuss the most relevant issues in new-generation photovoltaics: advanced material designs, new processing methods, device characterization, and large-scale fabrication. Leading researchers are invited to share their scientific views in these aspects. In particular, several experts will report their newest research endeavors in perovskite photovoltaic systems.

For the development of multidisciplinary science, meetings between researchers of many different backgrounds is very important. Building on the success of the previous workshops held on September 2, 2014, September 9, 2015, and September 6, 2016, we will hold the Fourth IAMS-YCU Autumn Workshop on September 8, 2017. We will have graduate students from Department of Materials System Science (chemistry and physics) of Yokohama City University (YCU) of Japan visit the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica Taiwan to participate in this workshop. In this workshop, we will have oral presentations by YCU and Taiwan International Graduate Program Molecular Science and Technology (TIGP MST) students, as well as poster session by young researchers from both sides. With this interaction, we hope to exchange research ideas and enrich collaborations. We take this opportunity to encourage interested researchers to participate in this workshop.

The annual Atomic, Molecular and Optical （AMO） Physics Summer School will be held at Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica located inside NTU campus, Taipei between 8/22 ~ 8/25. We invite domestic and international researchers to give lectures on related topics. Topics include: light-atom interaction, quantum information science, physics at intense laser field, bio-physics, atmospheric molecule detection and reaction, quantum gases and many-body physics, gravitational-wave observatory and precision spectroscopy, etc. This is a great opportunity for graduate students to learn more about these fields and for researchers to exchange their research experiences.

The goal of this meeting is to bring together scientists and engineers to discuss current and future experimental, computational, and theoretical advances in the field of single cell biophysics. Topics will include advances in single-molecule, single-cell, and tissue imaging, dynamics and spatial organizations of cellular structures and processes, responses of cells to three-dimensional microenvironments, new experimental and computational methods for single cell analyses, and the interaction of cells with materials.

We are organizing a Taiwan-Thailand 2017 Workshop on Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, at the Pan-Kuan Lecture Hall in the Department of Chemistry at the National Taiwan University, Taipei Taiwan on June 16, 2017. In this workshop, we intend to discuss the theoretical and computational studies being performed in Taiwan and Thailand. By detailed exchange of information between the primary investigators (PIs), we hope that this type of interaction will lead to fruitful collaborations in the future. We have invited PIs with broad background performing theoretical studies on the following: biomedical applications, catalysis, gas phase dynamics, nanomaterials, and quantum chemistry program developments.

The 3rd international Symposium on Frontiers in Bioimaging will be held at the Dr. Poe Lecture Hall of Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS), Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan on June 16th, 2017. This year, we have nine prestigious scientists who study biology from single-molecule level to living organisms by advanced imaging methods. Topics include live imaging for neuroscience, high-speed and high-precision imaging for single-molecule dynamics, superresolution microscopy, high-resolution 4D cell imaging, label-free imaging, and other novel imaging methodologies. We hope this Symposium to provide a platform for the students and researchers to exchange knowledge and ideas.

Due to large climate changes and health issues related to air pollution, there is an urgent need for us to develop understanding toward complex processes occurring in the atmosphere. Due to multi-disciplinary nature of the problem this requires the specialties of researchers from many different branches of physical chemistry. In this workshop we intend to bring together researchers from different background: experimental as well as theoretical to get a broader view on the research that is really required to tackle the problems in the atmosphere.　We hope to take this opportunity to encourage interested researchers to participate in this workshop.

This is a symposium hosted by the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences to discuss the latest development in Advanced Materials and Biophysics.

The 2nd Asia-Pacific Symposium on Solid Surfaces and Cross-Strait Symposium on Solid Surfaces will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS), located on the main campus of National Taiwan University, from November 13 to 16, 2016. This Symposium expands the original Russia-Japan Seminar on Semiconductor Surfaces (1993~2012) into a platform for enhancing the interaction and collaboration among researchers in the Asia-Pacific region working in the fields related to solid surfaces and 2-dimentional systems. The 1st Asia-Pacific Symposium on Solid Surfaces was held in Vladivostok, Russia in September 2014 (http://ntc.dvo.ru/apsss-1/). The Symposium welcomes researchers in the fields such as condensed matter physics and surface physics as well as physics and chemistry of 2-d materials to report their latest achievements in a lively, stimulating, interactive and friendly atmosphere. No registration fee will be charged.

The 2nd Symposium on Frontiers in Bioimaging, organized by the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS), Academia Sinica, will take place on November 10 - 11, 2016. This Symposium brings together scientists and engineers who have investigated biology and medical sciences using imaging-based methods that provide unique information of specificity and spatiotemporal resolution. The imaging techniques include optical microscopy, electron microscopy and magnetic resonance imaging. The subjects of study range from single-molecule biophysics, single-cell dynamics to tissue and whole animal imaging. There will be ample time for discussion about the opportunities and challenges of bioimaging, through which new concepts and integrations can be stimulated.

The Stereodynamics Conference has a history of success, starting from 1986 in Jerusalem (Israel). Then, the conference is held every other year: 1988 in Bad Honnef (Germany), 1990 in Santa Cruz (USA), 1992 in Assisi (Italy), 1994 in Gif sur Yvette (France), 1996 in Bielefeld (Germany), 1998 in Leeds (United Kingdom), 2000 in Escorial (Spain), 2002 in Schoorl (Netherlands), 2004 in Osaka (Japan), 2006 in Arcachon (France), 2008 in Dalian (China), 2010 in San Cruz (USA), 2012 in Paris (France), and 2014 in St. Petersburg (Russia). The 2016 edition of Stereodynamics Conference will be held in Taipei, Taiwan during Nov. 6 to 11. The venue is at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences. The conference seeks to unravel the most fundamental, directional aspects of chemical reaction, energy transfer, and photodynamics studied at the molecular level.
