中央研究院 原子與分子科學研究所

以基礎研究為重心的中央研究院，致力從事人文社會、數理與生命科學的頂尖研究，亦同樣具社會責任的科普知識推廣，讓大眾知道中研院在做什麼。因此，21年來，透過每年10月舉辦的「院區開放參觀活動」(Open House)，激發無數年輕學子的探索熱情，參觀人次屢創新高，近年更成為國內單日參觀人次最多的科普盛會。

This Workshop is the sixth in series held in Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica, to provide a great opportunity to discuss the emerging issues in new-generation photovoltaics: advanced material designs, new processing methods, device characterization, and large-scale fabrication. Internationally leading photovoltaics researchers in organic polymers, inorganic chalcogenides, and organic-inorganic perovskites are invited to share their scientific views in these aspects. Furthermore, our domestic researchers will also present their recent research outcomes in the Workshop.

光與物質交互作用座談會將於五月二十一日在中央研究院原分所浦大邦紀念講堂舉行。此次座談會非常難得邀請到國內與國際著名學者參與座談並給予演講，演講主題為高次諧波埃秒光源與應用、原子分子光譜學、以及表面電漿子與其應用。我們非常歡迎有興趣的學生、博士後研究人員、以及各位學界前輩先進共襄盛舉，報名參加此學術盛宴。

NDNC has a long history and is a merger of the former International Conference on New Diamond Science and Technology (ICNDST, initiated in 1988 in Japan) and the International Conference on Applications of Diamonds (Applied Diamond Conference), initiated in 1991 in USA). In recent years, NDNC 2018 was held in USA, NDNC 2017 was held in Australia, and NDNC 2016 was held in China. The conference will present recent breakthroughs in the synthesis, physics, and application of diamonds and other carbon nanostructures, such as graphene and nanotubes. The program features four plenary talks, 25 invited talks, oral contributions and poster sessions. The conference venue is the 4-star Farglory Resort in Hualien at the entrance of the majestic Taroko Gorge National Park.

We are pleased to announce that 2019 Student Poster Contest will be held on May 7 (Tuesday), 2019, jointly by the MST, NST, and SCST programs. This is a great opportunity to win your travel grant and interact with your colleagues. We encourage and welcome you all to participate in this big annual event. All TIGP-Nano students are welcomed, and the students who are 3rd year or higher are required to participate and submit a poster.

本次實驗室開放參觀活動是專為大學院校同學所舉辦，讓同學對本所四個研究領域「化學動態學與光譜」、「尖端材料與表面科學」、「生物物理與分析技術」、「原子物理與光學」的研究方向有所認識。尤其，本所暑期研究工讀計畫即將於四月一日開始申請，有興趣的同學，可藉此參觀活動更進一步了解本所各實驗室的研究方向與環境，方便做出最適合自己的選擇。

This is a symposium hosted by the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences to discuss the latest development in Chemical Dynamics and Spectroscopy, and honoring the marvelous career of Dr. Kopin Liu.

Established in 1996, the Asian Photochemistry Conference (APC) aims to provide scientists a major forum to discuss their latest developments in fundamental and applied photochemistry and related research areas. The APC has been successfully held in various countries including Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, and Taiwan. The 10th Asian Photochemistry Conference (APC 2018) is organized by Academia Sinica and National Taiwan University. The Organizing Committee welcomes you to participate in APC 2018 to be held in the Howard Civil Service International House, Taipei, Taiwan on 16-20 December, 2018.

今年(2018)是中央研究院90周年慶，院方舉辦許多慶祝活動，其中科學及人文前瞻論壇是由院內多個研究所針對不同主題邀請國內外傑出年輕學者舉辦的一系列論壇活動，希望能放眼本院未來10年的學術發展，為本院人文與科學典範的傳承，標誌出承先啟後的格局與意義。鑒於量子科學與技術領域近年來的蓬勃發展，原分所很榮幸邀請到在量子氣體研究卓越的金政教授，以及在量子資訊與量子計算研究卓越的謝明修教授，除講述他們個人的精彩研究外，也藉由他們在相關領域所具備的宏觀學術視野，展望該領域在未來十年的發展。在他們的演講後，我們將舉辦一場座談會，歡迎對這些主題有興趣的學者及學生參與，分享與交流對這個領域各種不同面向的看法與展望。

Building on last year's success, we will be hosting the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS) Young Fellow Research Presentation on Nov 1-2, 2018, at Poe Lecture hall. IAMS is supported by ~50 post-doctoral fellows, ~100 students, and ~50 research assistants. There is many excellent research done in IAMS which should be attributed to these supporting cast in the labs. In this presentation contest, we would like to give these young fellows a chance to tell us what they have done and what they want to do. We hope to take this opportunity to encourage interested researchers to participate in this workshop and learn the wide range of research done in IAMS by our young fellows.

為提升國內生物研究的顯微技術水準，使更多的生物實驗室在顯微造影技術能夠達到大多數國際一流實驗室的能力，中央研究院特別推出「前瞻顯微技術實作研習營」，邀請國內外影像技術的專家開設一為期五天的活動。

We welcome you to the 3rd Asia Conference on Thermoelectrics (3rd ACT) and the 5th Micro & Nanoscale Heat Transfer and Energy Workshop (MNHTE2018), holding together at Institute of Atomic and Molecular Science of Academia Sinica, in the campus of National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. The 3rd ACT, following its predecessors in Wuhan (China) and Kyoto (Japan), will provide a platform for researchers interested in various topics of thermoelectric materials to exchange their latest works. We especially welcome participants from our neighborhoods to visit us, find more common interests, and establish more collaborations in the future. The MNHTE2018 will cover frontier topics of heat/energy transfer phenomena of novel materials by advanced tools or novel methods. The workshop aims at bringing together researchers in Taiwan and sharing their works with international scholars. Because heat transfer phenomena are of fundamental importance in improving thermoelectric properties, we believe that it will be highly beneficial to bring researchers from the two conferences together. The 3rd ACT and MNHTE2018 will have tutorials on Oct 7, followed by two-days conferences on Oct 8~9, at the campus of National Taiwan University. The conference is organized by Academia Sinica and National Taiwan University. We look forward to your visit and your enthusiastic participation.

The 2018 annual Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics Summer School will be held at Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica, Taipei between 8/28 ~ 8/31. We invite domestic and international researchers to give lectures on related topics including atomic quantum gases, quantum optics, quantum information, and precision spectroscopy. This is a great opportunity for graduate students and junior scholars to learn about the cutting-edge researches and latest development in this sub-field, as well as for all participants to share their research experiences and exchange research ideas.

This Workshop is the fifth in series held in Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica, to provide a great opportunity to discuss the emerging issues in new-generation photovoltaics: advanced material designs, new processing methods, device characterization, and large-scale fabrication. In this workshop, we will have general lecture talks to learn available computational methods, as well as having presentation opportunities for the young generation postdoctoral fellows and students. We hope this will help in the discussion of the theoretical and computational studies that are performed in the three countries. By detailed exchange of information, we hope that this type of interaction will lead to fruitful collaborations in the future. We invite motivated research with broad background performing theoretical studies such as biomedical applications, catalysis studies, reaction dynamics, nanomaterials, molecular dynamics simulations and quantum chemistry program developments.
