Recovering from the pandemic, many academic events are slowly coming back. We are happy to announce that this year on August 31, we will host an ONLINE workshop jointly with students from the Molecular Science and Technology Program at Taiwan International Graduate Program (TiGP-MST) at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS), the department of physics at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), and Graduate school of Nanobioscience at Yokohama City University (YCU).

2011年是居禮夫人獲得諾貝爾化學獎的100週年紀念，從這年開始，在國內學術界精英和傑出的企業家們配合與努力下，每年舉辦之「居禮夫人高中化學營」活動，聘請國、內外頂尖的學者、專家，對化學相關科學與人文做深入淺出的介紹，也邀請傑出企業領袖給予演講或座談，分享自己的企業經營理念及成功經驗，除此之外，也安排了化學實驗、參觀知名研究機構或公司等活動。

2D materials are expected to revolutionize applications ranging from electronics to biology. To realize these visions, mature synthesis methods and powerful characterization approaches are required. This workshop will provide the opportunity to interact with preeminent researchers and shape the future of 2D materials.

Building on previous years success for the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences Young Fellow Research Presentation, we will host a similar event this year on Nov 8 and 9. Due to the pandemic, we will switch the workshop to online mode and adopt online evaluation the first time.
There are many excellent researches done in IAMS which are attributed to the postdoctoral fellows, research assistants, and students in the labs. In this presentation contest, we would like to give our young fellows an opportunity to tell us about their recent research findings and their future plans. We would like to take this opportunity to invite all members of the IAMS and TiGP-MST to participate in this workshop.
This year we will have both recording of presentation and Q&A presentations online during the 2-day span.

今年受新冠肺炎疫情影響，本院院區開放活動改採全線上活動方式辦理，為讓民眾宅在家也能盡情參與，以往僅舉辦1天的活動此次也特別加場，橫跨二個週末，將分別於10月30日(六)、31日(日)及11月6日(六)、7日(日)舉行。
本所在10月30日和11月6日二天提供多項精采內容，包括多場演講座談、影片欣賞、實驗室參觀導覽，並以Gather town進行互動式的成果展示，另有加碼抽獎活動，歡迎參加。

2011年是居禮夫人獲得諾貝爾化學獎的100週年紀念，從這年開始，在國內學術界精英和傑出的企業家們配合與努力下，每年舉辦之「居禮夫人高中化學營」活動，聘請國、內外頂尖的學者、專家，對化學相關科學與人文做深入淺出的介紹，也邀請傑出企業領袖給予演講或座談，分享自己的企業經營理念及成功經驗，除此之外，也安排了化學實驗、參觀知名研究機構或公司等活動。「2021居禮夫人高中化學營」自開放網路報名以來，受到全國各地學生與教師的熱烈響應。遺憾的是，在同一時間新型冠狀肺炎(COVID-19)亦在全球肆虐，雖然國內的疫情在中央流行疫情指揮中心、醫護衛生相關人員以及國人的共同努力之下已逐漸趨緩，但仍籠罩在擴大社區感染的疑慮當中。主辦單位為確保參加人員的健康，並配合政府政策，避免群聚感染，決定將今年的營隊活動改以網路視訊進行。

本活動是專為大學院校同學所舉辦，讓各位能對中研院原分所「化學動態學與光譜組」、「尖端材料與表面科學組」、「生物物理與分析技術組」及「原子物理與光學組」等四個研究領域的研究方向，有所認識。尤其，本所暑期研究工讀計畫 (https://www.iams.sinica.edu.tw/ssr/) 即將於四月一日開始申請，有興趣的同學，可藉此Open House更進一步了解本所各實驗室的研究方向與環境，方便做出最適合自己的選擇。

Due to the pandemic many academic activities have been halted, we would like to take this opportunity to make it a big event for IAMS. There are many excellent researches done in IAMS which are attributed to the postdoctoral fellows, research assistants, and students in the labs. In this presentation contest, we would like to give our young fellows an opportunity to tell us about their recent research findings and their future plans. We would like to take this opportunity to invite all members of the IAMS and TiGP-MST to participate in this workshop. This year we will have both oral and poster presentations during the 2-day span.

Spectroscopy has been an essential tool for the investigation of chemical and physical systems of interest. With the continuous development of more sophisticated spectroscopic techniques accompanied by the improvement of the theoretical understanding of the underlying processes, the role of spectroscopy in modern science becomes even more important. This workshop is planned as a platform for domestic researchers working on and with spectroscopy to share the latest results and to form potential alliances to tackle challenges. It is also our intention to bring together experimental and theoretical researchers studying different regions of electromagnetic spectra, providing an opportunity to learn about the possibilities and obstacles in different sub-fields and to foster collaborations.

2011年是居禮夫人獲得諾貝爾化學獎的100週年紀念，從這年開始，在國內學術界精英和傑出的企業家們配合與努力下，每年「居禮夫人高中化學營」活動，聘請國、內外頂尖的學者、專家，對化學相關科學與人文做深入淺出的介紹，也邀請傑出企業領袖給予演講或座談，分享自己的企業經營理念及成功經驗，除此之外，也安排了化學實驗、參觀知名研究機構或公司等活動。而原先規劃之「2020居禮夫人高中化學營」活動自今(109)年四月起開放網路報名以來，受到全國各地學生與教師的熱烈響應，很不幸的，在同一時間新型冠狀肺炎(COVID-19)亦在全球肆虐，在過去五個月以來全球已有超過470餘萬人確診感染，30餘萬人不幸死亡，這些數字依然在攀升中。雖然國內的疫情在中央流行疫情指揮中心、醫護衛生相關人員以及國人的共同努力之下，相較於國外來說相對穩定，但仍籠罩在擴大社區感染的疑慮當中。因應COVID-19疫情，活動主辦單位為確保參加人員的健康，並配合政府政策，避免群聚感染，在幾經討論之後，不得已決定取消今年的「第十屆居禮夫人高中化學營」的營隊活動。然而，主辦單位為緩解已報名學員與教師殷殷期盼之情，並期使大家在暑期安排之既定計畫不致中斷，於是研議並決定將活動改以現場與網路視訊演講及實驗示範等方式進行。因應上述措施，今年度的活動名稱擬更改為：「2020居禮夫人化學講座」。

Following last year’s success, we will be hosting the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS) Young Fellow Research Presentation on December 27, 2019, at Poe Lecture hall. There are many excellent researches done in IAMS which are attributed to the postdoctoral fellows, research assistants, and students in the labs. In this presentation contest, we would like to give our young fellows an opportunity to tell us about their recent research findings and their future plans. We would like to take this opportunity to invite all members of the IAMS and TiGP-MST to participate in this workshop, and your participation is the best support for our young fellows at the IAMS.

The International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA) was established at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Japan, in 2007. After a decade of successful development, MANA has grown into a representative international research center in the fields of nanotechnology and materials science, both in name and reality. The innovative Materials and Analytical Technology Exploration (i-MATE) Program was launched by Academia Sinica in 2018, aiming to provide a platform for encouraging researchers from different disciplines to find research partners to jointly conduct curiosity-driven exploratory researches in the areas of material or analytical technology. One of the important missions of the i-MATE Program is to help researchers in Academia Sinica to find domestic and international research-MATE. In the spirit of promoting international collaborations, the i-MATE Program is delighted to host this Symposium, hoping to bring together researchers from both institutions to share their academic experiences and research results in a relaxing atmosphere. We look forward to a successful gathering that helps pave the way to long-term collaborations among the researchers of NIMS and Academia Sinica.
