Detail Information of job
Title: | Postdoctoral fellows' positions- Computational Materials Physics Lab, IAMS, Academia Sinica |
Note: | We have two post-doc positions on the following two projects.
1. Excitonic effects on nonlinear optical response
Recent experiments report strong enhancement of nonlinear optical responses due to excitons in some materials but no enhancement in others. Motivated by inconclusive experimental results we aim to develop an efficient first-principle tool to study excitonic effects on nonlinear optical response. We will focus on second harmonic generation and shift current, which are two interesting phenomena and widely measured in the experiment.
2. Role of electron-phonon interactions in optically driven systems from first principles
This project aims to understand the role of electron-phonon couplings (EPCs) in optically driven systems from first principles. The fundamental question we want to address is the intricate interplay between electron-light, electron-hole (e-h) and electron-phonon (e-ph) interactions in ultrashort time scale. We will focus on the role of EPC in (1) optical response and phonon spectroscopy, (2) ultrafast charge, exciton, spin, and valley transfer in two-dimensional materials, and (3) optical control of structure, electron dispersion, and light-induced phase transitions.
