On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 15th Young Researcher Symposium of FNTG, taking place on September 23, 2025, at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS), Academia Sinica, in Taipei, Taiwan. This one-day event is a satellite symposium of FNTG69, the 69th meeting of the Fullerene–Nanotube–Graphene Society, which will convene at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) from September 24–26, 2025. As the first FNTG meeting to be held outside Japan, this milestone event is expected to attract over 250 researchers from Japan and Taiwan.

The Young Researcher Symposium offers a unique platform to foster dialogue and collaboration among emerging scientists. In addition to invited talks, the symposium will encourage informal networking by matching attendees and Taiwanese researchers for lunch (self-paid), lab tours, and an evening excursion to a night market.

We are pleased to invite you to a Mini-Symposium on Quantum Optics and Quantum Computing, to be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, 2:00-4:45 PM at the Dr. Poe Lecture Hall, Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica (on the National Taiwan University campus).

This half-day symposium brings together members of the local quantum science community and features a keynote talk by Prof. Klaus Mølmer (Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen), a leading figure in quantum optics and quantum information theory. The program also includes short research presentations by local faculty and an open discussion session with Prof. Mølmer. The detailed program is attached along with a brief bio of Prof. Mølmer.

We warmly welcome faculty, students, and researchers interested in quantum optics, quantum computing, and related areas to join us. No registration is required. Looking forward to your participation.

As part of the 30th anniversary celebrations of the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS), we are pleased to host a Workshop on Carbohydrate Research. This workshop will bring together researchers from diverse disciplines—including quantum chemistry, analytical chemistry, and glycobiology—to discuss the latest advancements in Carbohydrate Research. Our goal is to provide a platform for both domestic and international scientists to share their recent findings, exchange ideas, and establish potential collaborations. By fostering interactions between experimental and theoretical researchers, we aim to explore challenges across different aspects of Carbohydrate Research and uncover new opportunities for interdisciplinary cooperation. We look forward to engaging discussions and valuable insights that will shape the future of this exciting research field.

We are delighted to invite you to the Special Symposium on Interferometric Scattering Microscopy 2025 (iSCAT 2025), which will be held on April 17, 2025, in Taiwan. iSCAT microscopy, celebrated for its extraordinary sensitivity and speed in detecting light scattering from nanoscale objects, continues to break new ground in studying biological systems and precisely characterizing nanoparticles.

iSCAT 2025 will feature invited talks by leading research groups who will present their latest advancements in iSCAT techniques and their diverse applications. This symposium will serve as a dynamic forum for experts, researchers, and students engaged in discussing progress in iSCAT and related scattering-based optical methods or their utilization in exploring biological and material sciences. This event promises to foster collaboration, inspire innovation, and promote knowledge exchange.

Frontiers in Computational and Experimental Research on Membranes and Interfaces.
-- A conference celebrating cross-disciplinary research and honoring Michael Klein and Yuen-Ron Shen.

Membranes and interfaces have been and continue to be a focus of research on properties of chemical, biological, and materials systems.

This conference with leading scientists from around the world and four institutes in Academia Sinica celebrates interdisciplinary efforts across the fields of physics, chemistry, and biology, the two scientists who have made seminal contributions respectively in the computational and experimental domains and the 30th anniversary since IAMS was inaugurated as a full-fledged Institute in the Academia Sinica in 1995.

The 2024 IAMS Young Fellow Research Presentation will be held in the morning of December 20, 2024.

In this year, we invite some postdoctoral fellows, research assistants, and students who have received fellowships or academic Awards during the past year to share their research results.

This workshop will be an opportunity for the young generation to present what they have done and to share and learn from each other. We hope our young fellows can take this opportunity to brush up their presentation abilities as well as listen to other presentations and absorb what others are doing good.

自1998年起舉辦「院區開放參觀活動」(Open House)， 多年來已成為眾多科普迷引頸期盼的年度盛事，也是讓大眾瞭解中研院研究成果的重要機會。本活動皆於10月舉辦，已連續舉辦26年，每年藉由上百場的活動，如科普演講、實驗室導覽、海報成果展、互動式體驗、手作與親子遊戲等，讓所有參觀民眾一次滿足各種期待。

本所於人文社會科學館4樓交誼廳和南側走廊舉辦實體活動，內容精采豐富，包括多場科普演講、示範實驗、研究成果展示及解說，歡迎參加。

We are happy to announce that this year, on August 26, 2024, we will host the IAMS-NTNU-YCU Autumn Workshop 2024 at Poe Hall Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences. We will have both oral and poster presentations.

This event will have presentations by students from the Molecular Science and Technology Program at Taiwan International Graduate Program (TiGP-MST) at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS), the Department of Physics at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), and the Graduate School of Nanobioscience at Yokohama City University (YCU). We hope this workshop will initiate the interaction between students from various backgrounds, leading to future collaborations.

Furthermore, following the tradition from previous years, we will have awards for the best presentations.

Science Themes for the 2024 workshop are:

• General Atmospheric Physics and Chemistry (including laboratory, field, chamber and model work)
• Multiphase Processes (including chemical interactions in SOA and aerosol formations, and particulate matter (PM) evolution)
• Gas Phase Chemical Physics (including exploring chemical reactivity, kinetics, and reaction mechanisms in the gas phase)

The workshop series provides an informal opportunity for presentation of recent results and ongoing projects from both Taiwan and Japan’s sides.

The meeting format is a combination of more than 15 invited talks and a poster session, alongside the international communication and lab visiting opportunity.
