Welcome to the First IAMS-UM Symposium on the Application of High-Performance Computing (HPC) to Physical Sciences. HPC is the use of parallel processing for running advanced programs efficiently, quickly and reliably to solve complex scientific problems. With the increase in multidisciplinary nature of science, it has become important for researchers from different backgrounds to meet and discuss research ideas.
During 3-5 February 2015, faculty members and graduate students from faculty of Science of University of Malaya (Malaysia) will visit the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica (Taiwan) to have a joint workshop. This workshop will include invited talks and oral presentations by young researchers from both sides, as well as a poster session. This workshop aims to catalyze relationships, understandings and collaborations between researchers from Academia Sinica and University of Malaya.
Venue: C.T. Chang Memorial Hall, Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica, Taipei
