Near Field Optics
  Develop a sub-micron spectroscopic instruments that has spatial resolution better than 1000A and apply it for various problems in condense matter physics. By combine the laser spectroscopy with near field optics, such a instrument will find wild applications in nsom-meters sciences and technology. 
Light Emitting Organic Materials
  Conjugated polymers have both the plastic's flexibility and semiconductor's electrical and optical properties. We are interested in understanding the electronic properties of light emitting polymers and their relations to small organic molecules. The interplay between condense matter physics and organic chemistry is emphasized.
