The deadline for submission of abstracts has extended to July 1, 2000. The abstract (one to two pages) should be prepared on A4 paper by following the instructions given on the enclosed abstract sample sheet. The abstracts will be reproduced directly in the conference abstract booklet. Completed abstracts should be mailed (not faxed) to Dr. K. K. Liang or submitted by e-mail in the format of MS Word 7.0 or 6.0 (for PC) or to convert it into this format before E-mailing (see address below). The abstracts should provide sufficient information for the Program Committee to assess the content of the work, the main results and conclusions, and their originality.

The instructions for preparation of abstracts are enclosed with this announcement. Please follow the instructions in preparing your abstract. A MS word template file for e-mail submission is available from the Conference Home page on the Internet. Fill out the template file, then send it through an attached file to Dr. K. K. Liang.

A special issue of the Journal of Chinese Chemical Society will be published in 2001. Participants of the symposium are urged to contribute to this issue. The instructions for preparation of manuscript are enclosed with this announcement. Participants are expected to bring their manuscripts to the meeting.
